This week I invite you to settle in for an exploration of the backbone. Don’t worry, this isn’t a biology lesson. In actuality, I take a deep dive into the importance of having a backbone for the preservation of oneself. The act of choosing you, day in and day out.
Choosing your peace
During your human existence, billions of decisions are set to make their way to you. When actively putting yourself first, you naturally raise your own vibration. This is what I call, a win-win. In essence, you’re levelling up while sifting through that which matches your soul’s frequency. If choosing your own peace, results in the offence of another, it’s not meant to be. A clearer signal I cannot name.
Don’t get me wrong, always pleasing those around you isn’t an easy spell to break. It doesn’t occur overnight and takes dedication to turn it around. But the freedom that comes with just doing you, is euphoric. Ultimately, it comes down to having the courage to be disliked.
When we dissect the other hand, we are left with an alarming proposition. An inability to choose oneself in any given situation. In doing this, you further yourself from your true self. The risk sits in having who you are, becoming a blur. But I consider the soul similar to the sea. Forever intertwined and connected – no matter how far you drift, the chance to come back to yourself never dissolves.
And how is this done you may ask? By choosing authenticity, even if it means you have to ruffle some feathers.
Simply put, having a backbone is trusting yourself. It serves as a constant reminder that you do not succumb to the pressures or whims of society. Being able to have full faith in yourself in an egoistic world is something worth celebrating. A true freeing of the shackles.
